When you are hunting near a food source in the afternoon you may have deer lingering at the food plot when darkness falls. Usually the does and small bucks you are not interested in will be hanging around. The problem at this point is, how do you get out of your tree without spooking these deer.

A little after 7 a.m. I gave a couple of grunts and waited. About 10 minutes later I saw deer legs walking through the woods, but the cover was thick and I couldn’t tell if it was a buck.

Deer, in their natural habitat, do not eat “deer feed” that can be purchased at the feed store. So, left to their own devices, what do deer eat?

Deer are herbivores, meaning they only eat plants. While there are plenty of plants in the forest, not all plants provide adequate nutrition for deer.
