I don’t think you will find a hunter around that has not heard about the influene the moon has on the movements of deer. Whether or not you believe all that you hear there is some interesting data relating to deer movement and moon phases.
It is legendary that a full moon makes for tough hunting and good spot-lighting. Make sure spot lighting is legal in your area before you try it.
The other two moon phases are the first quarter and the third quarter. According to harvest data these two phases are when most hunters score, all other factors being equal. Quarter moons are productive mainly becuase the moon’s maximum geomagnetic influence is strongest at an ideal time, sunrise and sunset. This happens to occur when deer feel most comfortable and when hunter hunt hardest.
During full and new moons the moon is overhead or underfoot at midday; and during quarter moons the moon is overhead or underfoot at sunrise or sunset. At Buyritescopes.com we recommed matching a good hunting strategy to the quarter moon and you can expect to have an exceptional hunting season.
